Classes are moving into the wonderful world of the web log. I hate the term "blog," it just seems a bit stupid to me. Maddox states:
"The word "blog" is literally short hand for "boring;" a vulgar overused word that strikes your ear with the dull thud of a cudgle to the soft spot of a child. It's an abbreviation used by journalism drop outs to give legitimacy to their shallow opinions and amateur photography that seems to be permanently stuck in first draft hell" (Maddox, If these words were people, I would embrace their genocide).
There is just some disconnect in my mind about the validity of the blogs from the "Blogging Community," I understand the idea behind blogs, at least I think I do. But as a news source, I dont know... Paraphrasing Karl Marx, "those with money control education, information and religion," for the most part, blogs are free of that corporate control i.e. censorship, agenda and profit motive. But the corporations have the money to go places, where bloggers are much more limited in their access to raw data and for the most part only have access to the information that has already gone through corporate filters and has been spun to fulfill the agenda of the given news outlet.
